LIKEWISE, GAPS BETWEEN THE PIPES UP TO 5/8” MAY BE USED. THIS IS A VERY COMMON AND ACCEPTED PRACTICE. IN NO WAY WILL THIS ARRANGEMENT DIMINISH THE ANTICIPATED EQUIPMENT SERVICE LIFE. 2. THE TOP PIPE WILL BE COMPLETELY COVERED WITH A 1 ¼” THICK PLATE TO PROTECT THE PIPE FROM MECHANICAL DAMAGE. 3. PANEL WILL UTILIZE A FULL BACKING PLATE TO MINIMIZE AMBIENT AIR INFILTRATION AND IMPROVE STRUCTURAL RIGIDITY OF THE OVERALL PANEL. BACKING PLATES WILL ALSO IMPROVE THE INTERFACE TO THE UPPER SHELL/CAGE. ALL WELDS TO SUPPORTING BRACKETS WILL EXTEND FROM THE STEEL BACKING PLATE, NOT THE PIPE. 4. 2” BSP 3000# COUPLINGS WILL BE USED FOR THE WATER CONNECTIONS. COUPLINGS WILL BE LABELED WITH 3” RAISED STEEL LETTERS ”S” FOR OUTLET AND ”E” FOR ENTRANCE. COUPLINGS WILL BE LOCATED EXACTLY AS SHOWN ALONG THE WIDTH OF THE PANEL.
